How do I enhance my music Setlists through collaboration?

  • Updated

Setlist Collaboration is a feature that empowers band members, teachers, and musicians composing new records to collaborate seamlessly within a Setlist. This collaborative tool is available across various platforms: Web, iOS, and Android.

Here's an overview of this feature and how to use it to enhance your practice.

Sending an invite

All setlists are private by default; the owner must turn it to collaborative mode before copying the generated link.

There is no limit to the number of invitations the setlist owner can send. As the invited members join, seats will become occupied. As the last seat is taken, future users attempting to join will see the 'No more guests’ screen. Each setlist supports up to 7 members (including the owner)

Setlist owners can generate a link and invite other members to join by posting into a group chat or individual messages, allowing other band members to join and play the same songs.

When making the setlist private, existing collaborators remain on the setlist page for reference but lose access. When making it public again, existing collaborators regain instant access.

Notifications

When joining a new setlist, members will be asked whether they would like to receive push notifications for new song additions within the setlist.

The setlist's owner will receive a push notification for each new member that joins.

The owner can send specific invitations through their recent contacts, and the invited member will receive a push notification.

Recent Contacts

When the owner enables collaboration on a new setlist, a list of recent contacts may appear.

Those featured on that list are either:

  • Someone who has joined setlists by the owner in the past
  • Someone whose setlists the owner has joined in the past.

To sort the list, we prioritize those who are more likely to be invited by the owner.

  • Someone who has joined more setlists before will appear on top.
  • Previously removed members go to the bottom of the list.
  • An Invited person moves up on the list the next time the owner opens it.

Removing a member

The owner can remove any member from their setlists. They will see the following alert before removing:

“Remove from setlist. This user will lose access to this setlist. You can re-invite this user in your recent contacts.”

Re-inviting a removed member

The only way for a removed member to regain access to a setlist is by the owner re-inviting them through the ‘Recent contacts’ list. The previously removed member will receive a new invitation in the same way a new member is invited.

Receiving an invitation

The owner can directly invite users through the recent contacts. Invited users will receive a push notification saying: [owner] invited you to join the setlist [setlist-name].

As the invited member opens the product, they will see a screen prompting them to join the setlist (if there's space available).

Access denied

The user will see the ‘Nothing here’ screen when:

  • Trying to access a setlist from which they were removed.
  • Trying to access a private setlist.

The user will see the ‘No more guests’ screen when:

  • Trying to access a full setlist.

Exporting a song:

All members can export audio tracks according to their subscription plan.

User Subscription Levels:

Setlist collaboration is available to all users, but the mixer experience depends on the subscription level.

  • Free users can invite premium users to setlists and vice-versa.
  • Free users can’t access Premium instrument separation models or have unlimited features even if the song originated from a Premium subscriber.
